Sometimes life can appear complicated. It’s when we realise we have too much to do. Being busy is not what makes so many things happen. It’s when we get busy with the right things. To be busy with the right things, we need to know where we are at and stay on that path. When we do, life becomes simpler as we don’t have to be everywhere and doing everything, we just do the most important things we need to do. This means our path is not as broad anymore. We get to stay on a narrow path. Therefore, we can focus easier on our God-given assignment. Here are the keys:
Key #1 Purpose
One key to living right is to know why we were born. We are here for a purpose. That purpose is unknown to many. Why do you want to do what you do? Therefore, many just get up and do whatever they can with their lives. However, to help you simplify your life, you need to know the main thing that matters to God. What is it you are working on so God can fulfill His purposes on your life?
Even if you embrace a humble road, it will get you to where you need to be.
Key #2 Preparation
Once you know what it is you need to do with your life, prepare for your future. Know what is required of you so you can answer that call on your life. There are various things you can do to prepare yourself. Develop yourself in the area you believe you need to achieve a particular thing. If for example, you sense you need to help a certain group of people, know what you need to do for them. If you need to help retirees organise what to do with their time, work towards it. Think about who you want to help. Then, think about how you can help them. Once you get the answer, develop yourself towards this purpose–helping them find their purpose. If for example you want to be an artist, practice your art.
Sharpen your skills.
Key #3 Resources
Resources are available to us in many forms. For example, instead of working towards your financial needs based on your life vision and purpose, you might put in all your time into earning a living only. Are you consumed with your personal needs rather than putting your energy towards your passion—God’s purposes for your life? So, we need to eliminate habits that lead us to wasting resources provided for our purposes.
While our soul will last for eternity, we are here on this earth for a certain number of years only. So, as you can see, we all have many desires. However, we need to figure out God’s purpose for our lives so we can attend to our God-given assignment as soon as possible.
Spend your energy on what is worthwhile. Think and act in the light of eternity.
Why do you do what you do? Who are you trying to help?
